"If this was a movie..."
Updated: Mar 14
...Was a snippet of a conversation that I heard today.
It got me wondering what the full thought would have been and also my own thoughts about that statement.
I guess if this was a movie I would not have included many of the things that we have witnessed over the past year: job losses, inequalities, and high mortality rates. I'd have perhaps written a happier ending, or at the very least- in the battle of good v evil or light v dark-provided a reason for it all.
Sometimes we struggle to find a reason for any of the things that we experience or witness in this life: wars, poverty, pandemics!
My Christian faith provides some answers, but I still have many questions.
What I know for sure is- this isn't a movie! It's real-life... yours and mine. It features a cast of billions!
We may have thought that we all live 'separate' lives, but COVID-19 has shown just how interconnected we are and how what impacts and affects one person can impact and effect us all.
Our choices, our decisions have the power to hurt or to heal, to unite or divide, to show love towards or to hate.
In this life, we may not be able to create the perfect ending, but we get to choose the part we play until the end.
"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal." (1 Corinthians 1 v 13)
